I learned many things from this history class. I thought that history gives many effects to our lives. If the war happened that whole country will get in trouble and will be really nervous, and the geograhical things could be change because of the war too. I lived in little city which is near by west sea of the South Korea. From the 6.25 Korean War, many people died and our city get destroyed. I learned that historical event could matter for the geographical problems
Before I came to this class, I thought history is all about memory. I thought the things we learn from history class are useless. In this class I found out that everything in the past happen in the past has reason and logic. I didn’t actually know what does the word logic mean, but I found it out what it mean in this class. For example, how people created words. The reason is they needed to keep the words and numbers of farm. Now I realized history is very important in our life.
Before i came to this history class, I didn’t know why should we learn history. I thought history is all about memory and something happen before. After i got into this class, I realized that everything happen in the past has their own reason and logic. For example, why people created words: They want to keep the numbers of farming. Why people created laws? Once many people got together, there must be something to restrict them. History is important to our life. We can learn many experience form history.
Before this history class, I did not realize how it has had a lasting impact upon the world today. One example of this was the Opium Wars. These wars caused bad blood between England and China, and lasting the lasting affects of this war can still be seen today.
Before world history this year, I had an extremely bias and unrealistic view of history. I hardly knew anything about anywhere other than Europe and America, and the little I knew was from the news. I used to trust everything I heard on the news and TV, and I allowed it to shape my views towards places throughout the world, namely the Middle East. Since beginning this course I’ve learned how to view history through a more realistic lens, realizing that every event in history is motivated through different perspectives. I used to find history unimportant, thinking only the present mattered. I have now come to realize that understanding the present comes from understanding the past.
